For decades, folk dance dominated the American school curriculum. One of the most widely used phonographs was manufactured by Newcomb Audio Products, Hollywood, California. These machines were crowned the, "Folk Dance King." A high wattage amplifier powered a remote speaker for auditorium use. The turntable would play 16, 33, 45 and 78 RPM and would take records up to 16 inches. A microphone jack was available for square dance calling. Easy to use and excellent audio quality, these machines lived up to their reputation.
