SILVER LAKE CAMP ABANDONED (2025)
Stockton's camp, located off Hwy 88 at Silver Lake, has been non operational since 2021 and has been unsupervised and neglected by the City of Stockton.  While under the responsibility of the Community Services Department, they've turned their back on the camp.  The city manager's office and the Council are aware of the situation.  Word has it that the city no longer wants the camp and is considering its sale.  The camp has existed for over 100 years, involing thousands of community members.  Neglect has allowed for the camp to fall into disrepair.  Vandals have pretty much destroyed the facilities.  It appears that the city planned for this to happen.  What can you do?  Contact the mayor, your council representative and the city manager's office.  If you don't, they will discard the camp.  This is similar to when a previous mayor attempted selling Swensen Golf Course.  Below, see pictures taken in August, 2025.  Share this on your FB page.  Call KOVR, KCRA and KXTV.  Let people know what's going on.
